The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, Inc. (ISRI) is "The Voice of the Recycling Industry." With headquarters in Washington, DC, ISRI represents over 1,200 companies that process, broker and industrially consume scrap commodities including metals, paper, plastics, glass, rubber, electronics, and textiles. ISRI's membership also includes suppliers of products, equipment and services to the industry.
 Education, training, communication, forums, governmental representation and commodity roundtables are included in member services while ISRI's policy of Design for Recycling® contributes to public awareness of the benefits of recycling.
One of 21 Chapters, The Gulf Coast Chapter of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries includes Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas (not including Greater Kansas City), and the country of Mexico (not including Baja).
